Prayers for J

Why don't men listen?

Jovan had a flag football game today.  I told him I didn't want him to play.
My words to him were that he has a full time job, plus the police stuff and
we can't have him going to play a silly game and get hurt.  But he said he
liked to play and stay active.

So, he went.  Not an hour later he called me to tell me that he was on the
way to his parents house (the game was right there) and his mom was
driving him to the ER.  He tore his achilles tendon.

I called my sister and she came to stay with Owen.  THANK GOD for her!
I sped all the way to the hospital.  I did between 90-100 miles an hour on
the highway.  I was on fire!  It was cool, given the circumstances.  I stayed
behind a litttle mazda because I notcied he had a radar.  If he slowed down,
I did too. LOL  I want one of those radar things!!!

Anyway, I got there right on time.  J wanted me in the room when the doctor
came and I got there right before he came.  I liked the hospital.  We had never
been there.  I was very impressed.  The doctor and staff were really nice.
They put a cast on his leg and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon.  We will
meet him this week and schedule surgery.

Please pray for Jovan and his leg and healing.

Also, pray for us and for me.  We have been going through a lot and this is
something else to add to the pile!
But, God is good and He will provide.

We appreciate your prayers!

Prayers

I just wanted to ask you to pray for one of my dear friends.
She and her husband have been trying for over 12 years
to get pregnant and God has blessed them with a baby!
I am so happy!  She has been wanting this for so long.
She is only 5 weeks along, so please pray for her and the
baby.  This is very exciting!

blue

Today I feel a bit blue.  I hate feeling sad.
But today I do.I am almost depressed.

I try to so hard to be optimistic and

cheery!  But not today.  Don't know why

exactly.  I have so much to be thankful for,

and I am.  But I am just sad. Go figure...

BOO!

Happy Halloween!
We are taking Owen to a fall festival tonight!
I can't wait to see him in his monkey costume.
We always call him our little monkey boy and
he loves monkeys - he collects them!

weird

Ok, so I was watching Life Time today and this commercial kept coming on.

It was for a show with some chick that talks to dead people.  It is so weird.

Why do people want to talk to their dead relatives?  And is this for real?  Does
this woman really have the ability to talk to these dead people.  If so, why would
she want to do that?  It seems to demonic.  It's not only weird, it is scary.

Owen is 1!

Today Owen is turning 1.  Jovan and I cannot believe it has been a year already.
Time flies when you are having fun!  :)

God has truly blessed us with this little boy.  We waited and prayed for him for such
a long time and now he is already 1!  He is our little angel!

He is growing super fast!  And learning new things everyday!  Owen is now walking
with the assistance of his push car, and he has taken a few steps by himself.  He
says dada, doggie (sometimes) and mama (my favorite!).  He also claps everytime
we say 'YAY'!  He also waves hi and bye.

He is going, going, gone...

Owen has been walking a lot with the aid of his little push car...  He loves it!
He can also stand by himself for long periods of time.  Today, I was sitting on
the couch, and he was standing close to the couch.  He looked at me as if
to ask me for permission to see if he could try to walk.  I encouraged him.
I said, "come on, you can do it!"  He smiled and took 3 small steps.  It was so
cute!  I then cheered for him - "YAY!"  Everytime we say "YAY!" he claps his
hands.  So he was so happy and excited!  It was the cutest thing.

Crazy Sunday - Lesson Learned

We had the most disturbing and traumatizing Sunday of all yesterday!  If you get
grossed out easily, do not read this post.  LOL

It was a normal Sunday.  We got home from church, made lunch.  Owen ate chicken
nuggets and carrots and we had steak!  It was yummy!  After we ate, we watched a bit
of the football game and then I went to put Owen down for a nap and I went down for
a nap.  J stayed in the family room to watch his game.  I fell asleep right away.  About
30 minutes later, I hear J yelling for me, and Owen screaming.  I jumped out of bed and
ran to Owen’s room.  My mind is racing and I am shaking. The walk to his room from
mine is short, but all these awful images jumped in my head. I thought he tried to get out
of bed and broke a limb or something.  Well, I was wrong…  THANK GOD!  The
image I saw was horrific though.  This is the gross part.

My smart son managed to get his diaper off.  Well, he pooped.  And there was a
poopie mess EVERYWHERE!  It was so nauseating and disgusting I almost threw up.
Owen had poop from head to toe.  It was all over the crib, Mr. Shakes (the blankie
bear he sleeps with), the other stuffed animal in his bed, his binkie, it was awful…  J
took Owen to the bathtub, the poor thing was so scared and dirty!  It took J a good
while to clean him.  Even his nails had stuff in them…  I cleaned the room.  It took me
an hour to clean everything.  I washed the blankie bear, the sheets, everything…  I
threw the binkie away.  I got the Clorox wipes and wiped the crib, and febreezed the
whole room.  I did all this while shaking – I was still jumpy from the way J woke me up.
LOL!  J and I felt so bad.  Owen curled up on J on the couch and took his nap with
him.  I went back to bed, shaking, with an awful headache.  The lesson we learned?
Always put shorts on Owen before putting him in bed!  LOL

Father and Son

Last night we were all sitting on the couch watching some TV.  J was holding
Owen.  I was watching them.  Owen started playing with J's hand.  He holds his
fingers and studies them.  It is so cute.  I wish I knew what Owen was thinking.
He lifts J's fingers one by one and rubs them and plays with them.  All of a sudden
I hear J yell, "OUCH!".  Owen bit him.  LOL
I just love watching my boys interact.  They are so cute!
It is such a sweet moment to see father and son bonding! It is amazing to see
such a big man melt when he has his son in his arms.
I am truly blessed to have these 2.  And Owen is truly blessed to not only have a
father, but a daddy!
